Welcome, I am Ken owner of K-Kustom Rods. I am a small custom rod builder located in Anchorage, Alaska. I build quality hand crafted fly rods that are as great to fish with as they are to look at.

With one of my rods, you will have your choice of components, which includes; blank, reel seat, grip design, guide choice, and wraps (thread). The rod is also personalized with your name or a short message of your choice. I will discuss with you what kind of fishing you intend to do and then give you some different ideas for rod options. From there, I build the rod with hand selected components. I turn each grip myself and some reel seat inserts as well. I hand fit each of the guides to the blank for the best possible fit and check each guide for proper placement along the blank.
Due to the endless possibilities in building a custom rod, I do not put a standard price on them. I price out each rod per customer so I can achieve the best possible rod for your money designed around your input and style of fishing.
I take orders for new rods, repairs, and alterations year round, turn around time is usually about 2 months. Between the months of May and October, that time may be slightly longer as that is my busy season as well as my fishing season. I will keep you informed of delays or parts problems and always do my best to minimize the time it takes, but I will not rush your finished product. While my main focus is on building fly rods, I also build custom spinning, bait-casting, center-pinning, switch and spey rods as well.
